The Wilks Team Support The Local Food Bank

Wilks products are manufactured in a small coastal village in Essex, Tollesbury and have been produced there since 1975. The Wilks team is also made up of many Tollesbury locals and other surrounding villages, many of whom have lived in the area for their entire lives.

So, in the current tough economic climate it made sense to support a local charity managing a much-needed food bank called the Tollesbury Village Larder.

Local Charity

Tollesbury Village Larder was founded on the 11th of July 2022. So the Wilks food drive started on its first anniversary. During its first busy year, the service has supported over 59 individuals and families in the surrounding areas. It offers a friendly and anonymous place for people struggling to buy food and other essentials to get essential supplies for free. This larder is run on local donations and corporate contributions. This local food bank is now one of many that have sprung up to help and support people in need all over the UK and worldwide.

Here at Wilks, we participate in many charity events throughout the year. The team suggested the local food bank as an option. We left a box in the ‘team room’ with no pressure to donate. The Wilks team came out in full force, resulting in a wide range of essential foods and toiletries aimed at all ages being donated, including pasta, sauces, tinned meats, soap, hot chocolate, biscuits and more in the donation box.

A BIG THANK YOU

Thank you to the Tollesbury Village Larder for all the invaluable work undertaken to support the community. Additionally, thank you to all those who donate to the Tollesbury Village Larder or elsewhere. Without you, these charities and support systems wouldn’t function and help the people that need it most.

Finally, thanks to the team here at Wilks for supporting this local charity.
