Wilk’s Summer Party: Fun for All

As some of the more eagle-eyed amongst of you may have noticed, Wilks was closed on the 9th of June. This was because all of us here at Wilks were attending our annual summer party. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we hope you can appreciate the importance of such an event.

Joint CEOs of Wilks, Chris and Scott Berry, gave everyone a day off and organised a three-course meal for the team to socialise and relax. We were also joined by Wilks’ co-founder Marie Berry.

Our summer parties are our version of Christmas parties, but with better weather. Having the party in the summer gives everyone something to look forward to in a typically quieter social season. We use it as an opportunity to thank colleagues for their dedication and hard work.

After an outstanding year, the Wilks’ team is growing. We’ve recently welcomed a number of new colleagues to our sales, administration and production teams. They are joining our existing team, some of whom have been at Wilks for over 40 years. The event is a great way for existing and new colleagues to socialise:

“I felt so welcomed when I joined the team, but the summer party gave me a chance to get to know my co-workers on a personal level. Especially those in different departments that I’m less likely to interact with on a regular basis at work. Attending definitely made me feel like part of the Wilks Team.”

This year was especially significant as Wilks also celebrated its 50th anniversary. Founded in 1973, Wilks has become a market leader for innovative marine fendering products.

The summer party is an important company event that everyone looks forward to every year, and we can’t wait for the next one.

This celebration took place in Colchester, Essex. If you are in the area and enjoy delicious drinks, food, and lovely service, then you should visit Church Street Tavern. Thank you to Tom and all the team for the warm welcome.
