Wilks join Macmillan’s Coffee Morning

The Flexiteek International Ltd. team in the UK continued its annual tradition by participating in this year’s bake sale for the Macmillan Coffee Morning. This year, the event featured a competitive twist, as cakes were judged to determine the best one. Additionally, a raffle offered participants a chance to win the winning cake.

Macmillan Cancer Support hosts an annual Coffee Morning event, encouraging people across the UK to gather, enjoy coffee and cake, and raise funds to support those affected by cancer. This year we were able to raise £144!

This year, the cakes took a more traditional approach, focusing on citrus flavours—a departure from last year’s accidental chocolate-themed selection.

Judging the entries, Scott Berry and Marie Berry evaluated each on both taste and appearance. Ultimately, they awarded first, second, and third places.

First Place: Kirsty, Sales Administrator

Last year’s third-place finisher, Kirsty, amazed the judges this year with her intricate icing on a lemon drizzle and white chocolate layer cake. Her impressive work earned her a well-deserved first place.

Second Place: Phoebe, Marketing Assistant

Phoebe crafted a White Chocolate and Raspberry cake styled as a frog birthday party, complete with edible diamonds to represent water. Her creative design earned her second place.

Third Place: Derek, Marketing Assistant

The only cheesecake in the competition took third place. The cookies and cream flavour becoming a firm favourite among the judges.
