What Makes Up the Bump! Fendering System?

The entire Bump! Fendering System consists of three parts:

  1. Rigid PVC track
  2. Bump! body
  3. Stainless Steel End Caps (optional)

The Bump! range includes a 65-millimetre or 53-millimetre body. With a single track size accommodating either profile, Bump! has never been simpler. For a more stylized and finished look, pair the body with a stainless steel end cap.

The end caps are specific for each Bump! body size, one for each profile body size.

What Bump! Profile is Best for Me?

Bump! fendering / rub rails are available in two sizes:

  • Bump! 53
  • Bump! 65
ProfileBase WidthJoin TypeColours AvailableTrackEnd Cap

Bump! 6565mmFlat SideBlack, White, TraditionalBump! TrackBump! 65 EC

Both sizes have the same aptitude for curves, so the choice between the two is based on personal preference.

They can handle curves of up to an 80-millimetre radius without needing to mitre any of the track or body.

What Colours does Bump! Fendering come in?

Both sizes are available in black, white, or a traditional finish, ensuring they can complement any style of boat, from classic to modern.

As the track is typically concealed from view after installation, the colour of the track is not of the utmost importance. For the most part, BUMP! tracks are provided in white, but on rare occasions they may be supplied in other colours.

If you are looking for something unique, you can explore custom colours with the Wilks team to find your perfect match.

How to Install Bump Fendering?

Bump! fendering combines function and style while providing easier installation than traditional D fenders.

To install Bump!, first screw the track to the boat. Then, position the body at the end of the track, open and clip it onto the track, roll the body along the track around the boat, and finally attach the end caps.

For an example of how to ‘Open’ and ‘Clip’, check out the following installation video.

If you are fitting a traditional profile, hand sand the body with P18 – P24 sandpaper. Sand in an up-and-down motion along the length of the profile before fitting the track.

Installation tips:

  • When fitting Bump!, ensure that the back of the profile makes full contact with the boat. This allows for the body to seal properly with no gap.
  • Apply some sealant to the end of each screw before fitting to ensure that each hole is well sealed.
  • Fixings should be spaced approximately 150-200mm apart for the most secure attachment.
