Meet the Team: Andy Goodwin, Machine Setter
Meet Andy, a machine setter for the production of Flexiteek and Wilks products.
Tell us about your background. What did you do before joining the team?
Before joining the team, I worked for 17 years as an extrusion technician for a market leader in PVC-VE and UPVC building products.
How long have you worked here?
I’m now entering my 5th year here as a machine setter. I more recently became a late shift senior setter, which was an exciting transition.
Tell us about a typical day – what does your job involve?
I start the extrusion lines and maintain a high quality standard on our many decking and fendering products.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy the team environment and the supportive culture here at the production facility in Essex. I also enjoy the commitment to address and improve upon any customer concerns as efficiently as possible.
What would you say your most significant achievement has been so far?
I am really proud of coming in and joining a new team, especially one that is adapting to the growing customer base.
What do you do in your spare time?
Along with my Frenchie, I enjoy family-oriented activities. Watching sports is something I enjoy, especially football. Also, I enjoy listening to Harry Styles with my colleagues and learning how to identify his songs.
