85 Years at Wilks – Long Service Awards
Here at Wilks, we are proud to be celebrating a collective 85 years of service from two valued members of the team – Debbie Hutton and Derek Shakespeare.
2022 marks Debbie’s 40th year with us and Derek’s 45th.
Both Debbie and Derek started under the Government Youth Opportunity Programme before taking permanent positions.
Senior Sales Administrator Debbie has worked at Wilks since 1982. Joining the business after leaving school and spending the first summer fruit picking. Starting as an Office Junior, Debbie progressed within the sales team to Office Manager until recently stepping back into a Senior Sales position.
Likewise, Stores Person Derek worked his way up to Stores Manager before stepping back in 2019.
Both employees have seen the business change substantially throughout the years, from location, size and product reach.
Joint Managing Director, Chris Berry commented, “Both Debbie and Derek are valued members of the Wilks team; I would like to thank them both for the service they have shown to Wilks and their commitment to growing the business to what it is today.”
As a thank you for their service, Debbie and Derek enjoyed a day at Newmarket Racecourse – a passion they both share out of work.
